Apple, citrus (lemon and grapefruit), floral, almond, medium weight body with lovely bright, crisp texture. A good wine now and expected to improve for 6-10 years. Not buttery, not oaky.
The first Bêcheur wine (released just as the pandemic was getting underway) was also an Anderson Valley Chardonnay from a great vineyard. That was from the 2018 vintage and this, from 2019, is compelling for all the same reasons. You’ll enjoy this as much as the 2018 but if you didn’t care for the 2018, you likely prefer Chardonnay that is more typically Californian (tropical fruit, rich, full).
